It has never been a secret that one of the principal objectives of Positive Health PH Online was to attempt to bridge the gap between orthodox/allopathic and alternative/complementary medicine. The rationale was that to publish authoritative and credible clinical articles, case studies and published research across the entire spectrum of the many disciplines encompassing the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of health would constitute and add to the body of material available about natural treatment approaches to health issues.

We pay tribute and bid a sad, fond farewell to Stephen Cooper, co-Founder of the Bloomsbury Alexander Centre in London, Alexander teacher and musician, warm-hearted and friendly, with a long-time presence in Positive Health PH Online with whom we have had an association since the turn of the 21st century. Stephen recently died of cancer; his obituary is published in this issue.

It seems a very long time ago now - 1989-90 - while researching for my book Vitamin C - the Master Nutrient that I came across the now well-thumbed subversive book by Robert Houston Repression and Reform in the Evaluation of Alternative Cancer Therapies. 1987. At that time, which predates my authoring of the Consensus Document Nutritional and Lifestyle Guidelines for People with Cancer, setting up the Cancer and Nutrition Database for the then Bristol Cancer Help Centre and launching Positive Health PH Online, reading that natural and alternative cancer cures had been actively and systematically suppressed since the beginning of the 20th Century was but a novel and troubling part of my consciousness..

As we publish this Positive Health PH Online Issue 221, progress or the lack thereof toward attaining acceptance / recognition of the efficacy of non-toxic cancer treatments appears to have suffered major blows in the UK, due to the killing of the Saatchi Innovation Bill at the final hurdle;[1] a petition to allow this Bill to be debated has been launched[2].

I co-launched Positive Health PH Online some 20+years ago to help bring together - integrate - the disparate treatment approaches / world views of so-called orthodox allopathic and natural complementary / alternative medicine.
