Editorial Issue 186 Print Email

It is dizzyingly frantic these days to keep abreast of developments, news, research, events, in fact impossible. Following the News of the World hacking scandals last month have been the London riots and the riveting revolutionary march of the anti-Gaddafi Libyan NTC rebels, reported fearlessly by Alex Crawford on Sky News and many others.

It is an amazingly inspiring experience to watch the progress of a revolution, live on TV. And so rare when sheer will, guts and determination, and such love of freedom, with the help of NATO technology, spy-seeking weaponry and missiles, can overturn decades of tyranny, torture, corruption of a dictator, living in such obscene luxury, while the people starved, were imprisoned and cheated of their lives.

How can one compare the seemingly more prosaic Integrated Medicine magazine with testosterone-powered revolution? Of course they inhabit totally different universes; however the newly published health information presented in this Positive Health PH Online Sept Issue186 tells us about how to live our lives in a more balanced way, as exemplified by articles about Depression, Avoiding Human Destruction, Healthy Sleep, Balance in Chinese Medicine and Daoism.

The Nutritional editorial features discuss the entire spectrum about food – from The Best Nutritional Start for your Baby, the Immune- and other health enhancing properties of Honey, to the serious feature with the provocative title Cave Men Didn’t Eat Cornflakes.

The Bodywork section of Issue 186 distils the clinical skills of two experts: David Lintonbon’s Osteopathic treatment for Bursitis, and Brian Rothbart’s innovative article analysing the important relationship between the foot and pain and exploring various seminal models.

Additional news about important conferences, courses, products and events is reported in the Brief Takes and Short Features. This month it includes announcements of the 10th Anniversary Conference of Kate Neil’s CNELM Centre for Nutrition and Education, an upcoming Oncology Conference, courses and workshop in Channelling, Craniosacral Therapy, Homeopathy, Reiki, Reflexology and Nutrition, products for Colon Cleansing, Linseed Oil, Pilates, Qigong, Shiatsu retreat in France, CAMEXPO Exhibition in October, as well as pivotal books about Candida, Flexibility and Spiritual Emergencies. And, unlike the print magazine, these items remain online with the entire 17 year PH Online archive.

And the Research updates covering the spectrum of Integrative Medicine from Acupressure, Acupuncture, Cancer, Heart, Meditation through to Nutrition. These research findings invariably will contribute the building blocks to the future of our healthcare.

Perhaps the most poignant parts of this Issue 186 are featured in this issue’s Letters to the Editor, with obituaries to Angela Caine, Philip Salmon, as well as extremely heart-felt and constructive feedback to one of PH Online’s earliest articles / interviews: A Walk Through Robin’s Brain.

Although Positive Health PH Online is a numbingly endless work that never ends to produce, the 17-year archive is amazing and never seems to be out-of-date. We hope in the following year to enhance the site with international advertising specific to each country, with anticipated advertising partnerships. Please get in touch if you are interested in this fruitful collaboration and business opportunity.
